Obituary

Mary E. Wise, 90, of State College, formerly of Kane and Harrisburg, died Sunday, May 28,2006 at The Fairways, Brookline Village.
She was born in Jersey Shore on November 12,1915 to the late Charles S. and Charlotte Miller Welch.
In 1940 she married Walter A. Wise who preceded her in death in 1985.
She was an RN and worked in the operating room at the Harrisburg Hospital. She then left to raise her family, and then returned to work for an ophthalmologist.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Kane, the Kane Garden Club, a member and past president of the Shellsville VFW Auxiliary, Harrisburg Hunters and Anglers, and an was active volunteer for Meals on Wheels.
She is survived by two sons, Walter Wise and his wife Carole of State College, Dale Wise and his wife Gale of Harrisburg; a daughter, Rebecca Meals and her husband Ira of Harrisburg; two grandchildren, David Wise of San Francisco, Jennifer Herman of State College; and four great grandchildren, David Wise II, Matthew and Emma Herman, and Cheyenne Wise.
She was preceded in death by a two brothers, Harry and Charles Welch.
There will be no public viewing. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, June 2,2006 at the State College Assembly of God Church, 2201 University Dr. Ext., State College, PA 16801 with the Rev. Paul Grabill officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the First Baptist Church of Kane, Kane,PA 16735 or to the Alzheimer Association, South Central PA Chapter, Bldg 2, Suite 321, 2001 North Front St., Harrisburg, PA 17102.
Burial will be private at the Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Harrisburg.
