Melissa Joy Votaw 43, of rural Spring Mills, went to be with her Lord on January 13, 2019 at Mount Nittany Medical Center at State College.

She was born September 22, 1975, in Boyle County, Kentucky, a daughter of Marshall Gene Votaw of Kentucky and Rita Joy Cannon Baker of Scottsdale, AZ.

Melissa earned an Associate Degree in Graphic Design from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh.  She worked as a sales/customer service representative for Sykes Inc.

She was active in the Penns Valley Community Church.  She enjoyed cooking, crafts, puzzles, games, reading and watching Christian Movies.

In addition to her parents, Ms. Votaw is survived by her son Michael Scott Coffman of rural Spring Mills, a brother Christopher (Jamie) Votaw of Kentucky, and her boyfriend Donald Russell, II of Spring Mills, PA.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, January 19, 2019 at Penns Valley Community Church (Old Gregg School Community & Recreation Center), 106 School Street, Spring Mills, PA with the Rev. Tom Titus and Mr. Darren Narber officiating.  Friends will be received following the service and a luncheon will be served immediately after at the church.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be directed to the Penns Valley Youth Center, PO Box 175, Spring Mills, PA 16875 for the benefit of her son Michael.
