Melody Anne Valmont, 63, of Mesa, AZ formerly of Bellefonte, PA, passed away July 14, 2013, in Mesa, AZ.
Born September 11, 1949, in Washington DC, she was the daughter of Patricia (Haupt) Valmont of Mesa, AZ, and the late Glenn J. Valmont.
Melody was a graduate of Bellefonte Area High School and Lock Haven University. She was a teacher at the Keystone Central School District for twenty-five years prior to her retirement and relocating to Mesa. She was an avid horse rider. She competed and showed her jumper horses all along the East Coast. She bowled in a league at the Bellefonte Lanes, she loved to fly and go on trips. Her favorite vacations were in the Bahamas and Hawaii. She also enjoyed motorcycle trips with friends; a trip to Niagara Falls was a memorable trip she talked about often. Melody enjoyed roller skating, she was also an avid Penn State Fan attending both home and away games.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by a cousin Karen Landis and her two daughters, Jami and Riki; step-mother, Pearl Valmont; and a good friend of the family Jeffrey Favuzza.
Visitation will be 10-11 AM, Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Services, 1034 Benner Pike, State College. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM with the Reverend Renee Ford officiating.
Interment will be in Centre County Memorial Park.
