Obituary

Meriam Brown Smith, 76, of Centre Hall went home to be with her Lord and Savior on February 5, 2012. Born on September 6, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth O. and Helen Decker Brown of Centre Hall, she married Gary G. "Cooper" Smith on August 4, 1955. She is survived by their three children: Kelly (James) Eicher, Centre Hall; Holly (Robert) Yearick, Howard; and Jason Cooper (Amy) Smith, Centre Hall; five grandchildren, Emily (Eric) Herr, Bryce (Angie) Boob, Myken (Ryan) Poorman, Jessye Smith, Ella Smith and four great grandchildren. She is also survived by brother, Lorren Brown, Centre Hall and sister, Diane Keller, Bellefonte.
Besides working on the family dairy farm, Meriam was a founding member of the Calvary Baptist Church in State College and later became the Christian Ed. Director. She was a former chairman of the State College Christian Womens' Club. She owned and was a designer at Earlystown Floral in Centre Hall.
A private memorial service will be held by the immediate family. There will be no public visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Child Evangelism Fellowship, 539 Jacksonville Road, Bellefonte, PA 16823.
