Mildred Ruth Lingle Treaster, 76, of Potter's Mills went home to be with her Lord surrounded by her family at Wynwood House in Centre Hall on Monday June 5, 2006.
Born September 15, 1929 she was the daughter of Paul and Grace Grove Lingle.
She graduated from Centre Hall - Potter High School in 1948.
On March 12, 1955 she married John R. Treaster who died in 1998.
In her earlier years she worked at the Hanover Cannery in Centre Hall, the Boalsburg Steak House, and Patchwork Flowers.
She and her husband John owned and operated Treaster Saw Shop in Potter's Mills for 30 years.
In 1982 she was honored by Big John Riley on TV 10 for her volunteer work with Centre Hall Head Start, Centre Crest, and her church. She was a lifetime member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church of Tusseyville and served in many offices over the years. In 2001 she retired after having served 50 years as a Sunday School teacher.
Mildred enjoyed playing cards, hunting, crocheting, crafts, and spending time with her friends.
She is survived by her son Timothy and his wife Pam of Centre hall; her daughter Bonnie S. Treaster and her significant other, Greg Lingle of Centre Hall; three granddaughters, two of whom she raised, Heather Gibson, Heidi Rote, and Destiney Treaster; and five great grandchildren Alyssa, Austin, Abby, Morgan, and Brooklyn.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Mildred was preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy, two brothers, Nevin and Vinton Lingle, and a great granddaughter, Macy Gibson.
Visitation will be from 11:30 to 1:00 on Friday June 9th at the Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Services in Centre Hall. The funeral service will follow at the funeral home. Burial will be at Emmanuel Lutheran and Reformed Cemetery in Tusseyville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Tusseyville cemetery Association in care of H. Sam Grove 319 Airport Rd., Centre Hall, PA 16828.
