Mildred J. Ross, 78, of State College passed away August 20, 2009 in her home, surrounded by her family. She was born August 27, 1930 in McAlevy's Fort, PA, daughter of the late Benjamin Elias Wilson and Martha Jane (Green) Wilson. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is predeceased by her siblings, Mae C. Stevens, J. Irene Knode, Viola E. Hostetler, Warren T. Wilson and Calvin E. Wilson.
"Mid" graduated from Huntingdon High School in 1948. She was employed by the Penn State Conference Center, Offset Center Printing and retired from KB Offset Printing of State College. She was a loving, devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She provided care and comfort to many. Mid was an avid bowler, member of numerous championship teams in local women's leagues. She also enjoyed golf. She was a member of the Boalsburg Fire Company Women's Auxiliary and former member of the Zion Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Donald L. Ross, sons, D. Craig Graham, of State College, Keith A. Graham of Camphill, PA, daughter Lisa A. Lunnen and her husband Keith D. Lunnen of Essex, MA, grandchildren Kristin Graham and Scott Graham of Mechanicsburg, PA, Andrew Lunnen and Kevin Lunnen of Essex, MA, beloved niece Brenda J. King of McAlevy's Fort, PA and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from noon until the time of the service, at 2 pm, Monday August 24, 2009 at the Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral home, 1034 Benner Pike, State College, with burial following the service at Centre County Memorial Park. Condolences may be shared at www.heintzelmanfuneralhome.com.
