Miriam Bair Corman, (Mim) 87, of rural Spring Mills, peacefully entered into the arms of Jesus, surrounded by family, on Wednesday, February 11, 2009, at Valley View Haven, Belleville, PA.
She was born April 24, 1921, in Smullton, daughter of the late Raymond Cornelius and Anna Maude Dutrow Bair.
Miriam married Robert Harry Corman September 1, 1940, who preceded her in death April 30, 1984.
She graduated from Miles Township High School in 1939.
Mim was a loving and devoted mother, who always put her family before herself. A woman of varied skills and abilities, she enjoyed gardening, working with flowers, caring for children, playing the piano, and was an accomplished cook and baker.
She was a member of St. James United Methodist Church in Coburn, PA. Previously, she taught Sunday School at Grace United Church of Christ in Spring Mills, PA for more than twenty years. In her younger years she was active in the Grange and was supportive to the Penns Valley Band Boosters and the Gregg Township Fire Company Auxiliary.
She is survived by a daughter, Marianna A. Eister and her husband Robert of Canfield, Ohio; three sons, Robert L. Corman and his wife Carol Ann of Centre Hall, Thomas H. Corman and his wife Shirley, and John R. Corman and his wife Kathie all of rural Spring Mills; three brothers, Robert E. Bair of Centre Hall, R. Gerald Bair of Rebersburg, and Richard D. Bair of Vero Beach, FL; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother Marvin E. Bair.
Visitors will be received from 1 - 3 p. m. Sunday, February 15, 2009, at Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Service 226 S. Pennsylvania Ave. Centre Hall, PA. A service celebrating her life will be held at 3:00 p. m. at the funeral home, with Pastor Carol Price and the Reverend David Janssen officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Millheim.
