Nellie J. Mason, 78, of Centre Hall, died Saturday, December 22, 2007, at her home.
She was born January 22, 1929, in Potter Township, a daughter of the late William E. Mills and Margaret Jamison Mills Sweitzer.
In November 1947, she married Everett J. Mason who preceded her in death on March 24, 2005.
Three daughters survive her, Connie L. Yearick and her husband John of Centre Hall, Cathy A. Zettle and her husband Donald R. of Centre Hall, and Dorothy M. Bloom and her husband Rick of Allentown; two sons, Charles W. Mason and his wife Nancy of Spring Mills, and Everett Jan Mason and his wife Kimberly of Julian; two sisters Helen Schaeffer of Bellefonte, and Pauline Bebak of New York; two brothers, William Mills of Centre Hall and Fred Mills of Harrisburg; nine grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister Alice Reed and a grandson, Bryan Yearick.
Nellie retired from Jostens Yearbook Company in State College and earlier in life worked at the Roma Restaurant in Bellefonte.
Spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren was the highlight of her life. She also enjoyed flowers, crocheting, bird watching and cooking.
Friends will be received from 6 - 9 p. m. Thursday, December 27, 2007, at Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Service, 226 S. Pennsylvania Ave. Centre Hall. Funeral services for Mrs. Mason will be held at 11:00 a. m. Friday, December 28, 2007, at the funeral home, with the Reverend Judith Hulslander officiating. Burial will follow in the Reformed and Lutheran Cemetery, W. Church St. Centre Hall, PA.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Sons of the American Legion, 2928 Penns Valley Pike, Centre Hall, PA 16828.
