Norman L. Bierly, 82, of Linden Hall, passed away on Thursday, August 30, 2012 at his residence.
Born on April 5, 1930 in Milesburg, he is a son of the late James Ryman and Frances Amelia (Jacobs) Bierly.
On August 24, 1956 at the Milesburg Presbyterian Church, he was married to Peggy L. (Walker) Bierly who survives at home.
Mr. Bierly was a 1948 graduate of Bellefonte Area High School and had attended the Williamsport Technical Institute.
Norman was employed as a Machinist.
He was also a long time Harris Township Tax Assessor.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Diane K. Bierly of State College; one son, Lee A. Bierly of Linden Hall; and one sister, Shirley Corman of Coleville.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Anna Marie Bierly; and two brothers, James R. and Robert C. Bierly.
All services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Burial will take place at Advent Cemetery, Boggs Twp.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mr. Bierly's memory may be made to the Boalsburg Fire Company, P.O. Box 359, Boalsburg, PA 16827; or to a charity of one's choice.
