Olive Jean (Myers) Fike, 76, of State College died on Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at Mount Nittany Medical Center in College Township.
On October 19, 1932 in Morrisdale, she was born to the late Harry R. and Nora Oletta (Flegal) Myers.
On April 15, 1951, she was married to John W. Fike, Sr., who preceded her in death on December 22, 1991.
Early in life, she attended school in Gram Township, Clearfield County.
She was employed by the Centre Daily Times, delivering newspapers for over 35 years.
She loved flowers and had quite the "green thumb," but truly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by one daughter, Wava Jean Crandell of State College; two sons, John W. Fike, Jr. and Dale Russell Fike, both of State College; three brothers, William D., David R., and George E. Myers; four sisters, Helen Johnson, Marcene Kanouff, Martha M. Bowman, and Doris E. Eirich; six grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Sylvia Kyler and Lelia Collar; and two brothers, Lee Ray Myers and Francis Perry Myers.
Family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 5, 2009 from 10:30 AM until the time of the Funeral Service at the Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Services, 1034 Benner Pike, State College. Funeral Services will begin at 11:30 AM at the funeral home with the Reverend Renee Ford officiating. Interment will be private at Centre County Memorial Park, State College.
