Obituary

Olive Zoe Williamson, 86, of State College, died Tuesday, June 1, 2010.
She was born February 24, 1924, in Melbourne, Australia, the daughter of Oliver Burns and Zoe Burns, both of whom preceded her in death. She was married to George Tucker, in a marriage which ended in 1958 and was subsequently married to William Williamson, who died January 3, 2008. Olive was survived by a daughter, Christine Nesbit, and a grandson, James Nesbit. Her brother, John Donald Burns predeceased her, and his son, her nephew, Malcolm Burns resides in Melbourne, Australia.
Olive was a veteran of the Australia army, having served during World War II. She was an avid bridge player; she enjoyed reading history, especially ancient history, including Egyptology, religions and philosophy. She also enjoyed good murder mysteries. Each week, Olive did the New York Times crossword puzzle in pen.
There will be a commemorative service in the Piano Lounge at Pinecastle at Brookline on June 18, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, friends who wish to remember Olive are invited to donate in her honor to the American Foundation for the Blind or to the Centre County Community Foundation.
