Omie C. Caris, 64, passed away June 4, 2014, at the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA.
Born May 9, 1950, in Lock haven, he was the son of the late Chester C. Caris and Ruth A. Wert.
On February 14, 1999, he married Yuriko Hayashi, who survives at home.
Omie retired from Rockview after 30 years of service. He loved hunting, cooking, gardening, and doing suduko puzzles.
Along with his wife Yuriko, he is survived by four sisters; Evelyn Muthler (Keith) of Loganton, Hilda Witherite (Bob) of Bellefonte, Eleanor Caris of Bristol, and Miriam Caris of Baltimore, MD; three nephews, Greg, Andy, and Bryan; two nieces, Beth and Retta, and three great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and mother-in-law, Chiyo Kitaoka.
Friends will be received from 1:00 - 2:00 p. m. Saturday, June 7, 2014 at Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Service, 1034 Benner Pike, State College, PA. The funeral will follow immediately at 2:00 p. m. at the funeral home, with Pastor Chris Korn officiating. Burial will be in Centre County Memorial Park, State College, PA
