Obituary

Pamela C. Strouse left this life on Tuesday, November 1st. She was born December 10th 1963 to the late Philip H. and Matilda A. Lockard who survives in Bellefonte.

Pam married Scott Strouse on October 13, 1984. She has two sons, Kurtis of Denver, Co., married to Kelly Allegretto from Bellefonte, and Logan of Boston, MA. Pam is survived by a sister Cindy (Joe) Hallahan of Pleasant Gap and a brother Tim (Carol) Lockard of Reedsville. Pam was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister and aunt. She loved her family and would do anything for anyone. She enjoyed cooking, baking and entertaining and was quite the hostess for any event. She planned for Christmas and Thanksgiving months in advance and always looked forward to the annual Grange Fair. Pam has been an avid, life-long fan of Penn State football and sat through every home game until the players left the field. Pam and her husband recently celebrated their 33rd wedding anniversary with a trip to Utah and visited the "Mighty Five" National Parks. She and her family enjoyed many vacations and trips throughout the United States.

Pam was a member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, State College where she served as an usher and volunteered for the Centre County Out-of-the-Cold program.

Pam worked for the Private Industry Council of Centre County and later moved to the Bellefonte Area School District to serve as the prevention coordinator for substance abuse and bullying programs. Pam most recently served as the development and marketing manager for the Discovery Space Children's Science Museum in State College. This is where she found her niche. She was employed part time and volunteered many additional hours. Pam realized the importance of secondary education in the fields of science and technology and worked diligently to provide the funding necessary to keep this institution moving forward in our community. Pam's husband and family request that any memorial contributions be made to the Discovery Space Children's Science Museum, 1224 North Atherton St., State College, PA 16801. Pam would be extremely honored to have this as her final contribution.
