Patricia L Howes, 89, of State College was surrounded by family as angels came to take her to heaven on Monday, August 8th, 2016, at her home. She was born in a farmhouse in Washington, Pa on May 30th, 1927. Her mother Margaret Amos and sister Velma Kazakewicz are deceased. Patricia married Carroll L Howes on January 25th, 1953 and he resides at Elmcroft Senior Living in State College. She graduated from Ellsworth High School in 1944 and Penn Commercial College in 1945. She was employed as a cashier, bookkeeper and secretary until her marriage and was a volunteer 4-H leader for 25 years and a loving homemaker. The State College Presbyterian church has been her home church for 50 years and she has always had an unwavering faith in God. She also enjoyed reading, crafts, crocheting and quilting. She was blessed with four children; Jeff Howes (Carol) of Shavertown, Pa, Chris Howes (Kathy) of Houston, TX, Janice Krug (Bill) of State College, Pa, and Donna Stringfellow (Steven) of Overland Park, KS. She has a niece, Jackie Milone and grandchildren; Lindsey Nipitella (Nick), Cody and Amanda Krug and Heather Beaver (Garrett), Sarah, Claire and Emily Howes, Kelsey, Sydney and Madison Stringfellow, Gage Dennis, and one great grandson, Nicholas Nipitella. Her greatest joy in life was her family and she modeled such positive hard working, resourceful and loving qualities for them. She will be missed by all who knew her but we have comfort in knowing she is in heaven with her mother and sister and free of all pain and worries. Friends and family will be received from 6 to 8pm on Thursday, August 11th at the Heintzelman Funeral Home, 1034 Benner Pike, State College, PA. The funeral service will be Friday, August 12th at 11:00am at the funeral home with Pastor Jody Reese officiating. Interment will follow at the Centre County Memorial Park.
