Patricia Whiteman, age 88 of State College, passed away peacefully on September 3rd at Brookline Juniper Village due to complications of a stroke.  Pat was the daughter of the late John and Hazel Hoy of State College and the oldest of two children.  Her brother was the late Robert (Bobby) Hoy.  Pat was a 1951 graduate of State College High School and then worked as a secretary for the College of Agriculture at the Penn State University Park campus.  In 1955 she met the love of her life, the late Ira (Bud) Whiteman.  They married on March 17th, 1956 and bought a farm near Tusseyville known as Long Lane Farm.

Pat and Bud raised three children, David, Beth and Christopher.  Pat was a wonderful homemaker and gardener.  She enjoyed decorating the farm house for the seasons and taking care of  her flower beds.  While tending the farm, she worked at the Sweeney Insurance Agency in Centre Hall.  She later worked at Luse's IGA in Centre Hall.  In their later years, Pat and Bud were able to travel as the demands of the farm changed when Bud took a job with Doeblers's Seed Company.  They sold the dairy cows which gave them more time and freedom.  They continued to farm until Bud's retirement.  Pat's life changed forever when Bud developed dementia. After 48 years they sold the farm and moved to Boalsburg in 2004.

Pat is survived by her son David Whiteman,  married to Connie Kossan, his two sons Alexander and Adam, her daughter Beth Whiteman, her son Christopher Whiteman married to Jill and their two daughters, Jennifer and Rachel.
