Peggy J. Homan, 63, of Pennsylvania Furnace, died Sunday, April 26, 2009, at Mt. Nittany Medical Center, at State College.
She was born July 6, 1945 in Bellefonte, a daughter of the late Charles and Margaret Dunkle Harpster.
Peggy married Harold R. Homan, March 23, 1960, who survives at home.
Peggy attended State College Area Schools. In addition to being a homemaker, she served as a school bus driver for Confer Transportation, worked at University Park Nursing Center in State College and was a long time employee of ACE Answering service in State College.
Throughout her life she attended Pine Grove Mills Presbyterian Church and Fairbrook United Methodist Church. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, going camping and attending Grange Fair. She also enjoyed NASCAR races, watching her sons participate in dirt track auto racing, and she was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan.
Surviving in addition to her husband, are a daughter, Pamella E. Myers and her husband Robert of Warriors Mark; two sons, Thomas E. Homan of Port Matilda, and Richard L Homan and his wife Danielle of Pennsylvania Furnace; eleven grandchildren, four great grandchildren; and a sister in law, Donna Harpster of Pleasant Gap.
Her parents and one brother Richard Harpster preceded her in death.
Friends will be received from 6 - 8 p. m. Thursday, April 30, 2009 at Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Service, 1034 Benner Pike, State College, PA, and from 10:00 - 11:00 a. m. Friday, May 1, 2009 at the Funeral Home. The funeral will follow immediately at 11:00 a. m. at the funeral home with the Reverend Carl D. Campbell officiating. Burial will be at Graysville Cemetery near Rock Springs.
