Obituary

Penn Ronson Weis, known to many as Hip Hop artist "State Penn," 42, of State College died September 1, 2019. A devoted father, loving son, brother, uncle, and everyone's #1 fan, Penn truly had a heart of gold and never hesitated to help anyone in need. It's no wonder he so loved Marvel action heroes because putting others needs before his own made him a true hero to family and friends who could always count on his kindness. Penn was a gifted creator who could conjure up a feast out of meager leftovers, write multi-syllabic rhymes while dropping double entendres effortlessly, and spinning wild stories out of his many adventures.

Penn even supported many musicians and aspiring artists because he believed in the power of words to help change the world. That's why he poured out his soul into countless pages throughout his life, leaving behind a vast catalog of unreleased lyrics and music. At the time of his passing, he was getting ready to go back into the studio to record with his longtime friend and mentor Prince Po. His brother Kael, an indie rock artist and producer "Everywhere Danger!" wants Penn's lyrics to live on and plans on releasing his vision on most online streaming services in the near future.

Penn developed a unique and deep relationship with God, and anyone who knew him well would be sure he is up in heaven partying with Jesus. No one will ever fill the place you had in our hearts. He is survived by his son, Hunter, beloved girlfriend Rachel Held, brothers Marcus, Kristian, and Kael, and father K. Ronald Weis.
