Obituary

Phillip J. "Jack" Young, 86, of State College, died Sunday, November 22, 2015, at Valley View Retirement Community, Belleville.

Born January 7, 1929, in Chicago, IL; a son of the late Nicholas and Mary Riley Young. On August 17, 1957 he married Pearl E. Evans who survives at home.

Mr. Young was a graduate of St. Catherine's High School in Racine Wisconsin and was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in State College.

His favorite sports were golf, skiing, and boating.

In addition to his wife Pearl, he is survived by one son, Nicholas Young (Mary Beth) of Lewistown; one daughter in law, Donna Young of Matthews, NC; three grandchildren, Andrew (Crystal), Benjamin (Kaytlin), Elizabeth Johnson (Shane); four great-grandchildren, Hudson, Avery, Laurel, and Davis.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son Eric Young who preceded him in death on October 6, 2011, and one sister, Madelyn Spring who preceded him in death on February 5, 2015.

Friends and family will be received from 2:00p.m. to 4:00p.m. Saturday, November 28, 2015, at Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Service, 1034 Benner Pike, State College, PA. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made Valley View Retirement Community, 4702 E. Main Street, Belleville, PA 17004.
