Phyllis L. Owens, 81, of Port Matilda died October 22, 2010, at Mt Laurel Nursing Home in Clearfield.
Born on August 2, 1929 in Bellefonte, she was a daughter of Ella Miller.
In 1947, she married Bower Whitehead who preceded her in death in 1976. On March 31, 1979 she married Dean Owens, Sr. who preceded her in death on June 30, 2010.
Phyllis was a graduate of Bellefonte High School. She was a homemaker who enjoyed baking and cooking for her family.
She is survived by a daughter Judy R. Weller, a son Gary L. Whitehead, two step daughters, Jennie L. Whitman and Tracey Dreibelbis; two step sons Dean R. Jr. and Boyd D. Owens; 20 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren.
In addition to her husbands and mother she was preceded in death a daughter, Debra L. Hockenberry and two sons, Larry T. and William A. Whitehead, one brother, Gerald L. Miller and a step daughter.
Friends will be received 10 - 11 AM, Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Services, 1034 Benner Pike, State College. Funeral Services will follow at 11 AM at the Funeral Home. Burial will be at Centre County Memorial Park, State College, PA
