Prudence E. Bayletts, 82, of Shingletown died Thursday, August 5, 2010, with her family beside her, in her home.
She was born November 27, 1927 in Johnstown, a daughter of the late David and Sara Marie Stein Barkhymer.
On September 3, 1949 she married Norman Daniel Bayletts who survives at home.
Prudence attended Garfield Junior High School; and St. Columbus Catholic High School both in Johnstown.
Mrs. Bayletts loved children and in addition to being a homemaker, she did babysitting in her home and for her grandchildren; as well as having sponsored children in other countries through the World Evangelism Fund.
Surviving her in addition to her husband are two sons, Richard M. Bayletts of Pennsylvania Furnace and David D. Bayletts of Shingletown; two grandchildren; Nathan and Troy Bayletts, two sisters, Sara Drenchko of Fayetteville and Margaret L. Kull of Michigan; two brothers, James Barkhymer of Philadelphia and David Barkhymer of Johnstown.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter Mary Ann and a daughter in law, Karen Bayletts.
Friends will be received from 10 -10:30 AM Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Service, 1034 Benner Pike, State College, PA. Funeral Services will follow at 10:30 AM at the funeral home with the Reverend Bryan McNally officiating. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family in Centre County Memorial Park.
