Obituary

Ralph N. Krecker, 88, of Valley Veiw Haven Retirement Community formerly of Boalsburg, died Saturdy, May 10, 2003 at the retirement community.
He was born Feb. 24, 1915 in Friedensburg, PA a son of the late Arthur and Mary Moyer Krecker.
On February 23, 1944 he married Beulah M. Fohringer who died September 26, 1999.
Mr. Krecker graduated from Pottsville High School in 1932. He earned a Bachelor's degree in Psychology in 1943, and a Master's degree in Political Science in 1945, both from Penn State University.
Mr. Krecker was dean of students at the Hazelton Campus of Penn State University. He later returned to the University Park Campus, where he was an assistant professor of Political Science, assiatant to the director of Counseling, and served as director of student financial aid.
He was a member of the American Association of University Professors, the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators, and Vice President of the PA Association of Student Aid Officers. He earned a 50 year membership pin from the Penn State Alumni Association. He served on the Harris Twp. Planning Commission and served as secreatry of the Harris Twp. Water Authority. He was a member of the Harris Twp. Lions Club where he received an outstanding service award. Mr. Krecker was a member of the former St. John's United Methoidist Church in State College, and currently a member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Boalsburg.
He especially enjoyed gardening and landscaping.
He is survived by 2 daughters,Mary Belle Heindel of Middleton, WI, and Dorothy Yukish of Indian Head, PA; 2 Grandchildren, Jennifer Heindel of Hull, Mass., and Jason Heindel of Whitefish Bay, WI; and 2 brothers, Russell Krecker of Union City, GA and Richard Krecker of Penllyn, PA
Friends will be received at the Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral Service, 226 S. Pennsylvania Ave. Centre Hall from 6 - 8 p. m. Tuesday, May 13, 2003. Funeral services will be held at 11 a. m. Wednesday, May 14, 2003 at St. John's United Church of Christ, Boalsburg, PA, with the Rev. Allen L. Heckman Officiating. Burial will follow in the Boalsburg Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributiions may be sent to Valley View Haven, Box 827, Belleville, PA 17004.
