Ralph Linn Witmer, 89, of Centre Hall, died Sunday, February 13, 2011 at his home.
He was born November 12, 1921, in Bellefonte, a son of the late Lester and Ethel Gummo Witmer.
On November 20, 1943 he married Thelma M. Benner who survives at home.
Mr. Witmer served in the U. S. Army from October 19, 1942, to February 3, 1946 earning the rank of Corporal and multiple recognition medals.
A gifted carpenter, he owned and operated his own business for many years.
Mr. Witmer was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church in Centre Hall. He especially enjoyed fishing and woodworking.
In addition to his wife Thelma, he is survived by a daughter Susan J. Darr of Aaronsburg; and two grandchildren, Tanya Darr of Aaronsburg, and Joshua Darr of Leesburg, VA.
Following his wishes, there will be no public visitation or memorial service.
