Obituary

Ray William Long, 70, of State College, died Wednesday, May 30, 2007, at Mt. Nittany Medical Center in State College.
He was born December 3, 1936, in Nittany, PA a son of the late Charles M. and Sarah William Long.
On June 25, 1977, he married Edith E. Lauver who survives at home.
Ray graduated from Walker Township High School. He served in the U. S. Air Force from November 14,1956 to March 13,1963 earning a good conduct medal.
He was employed as a truck driver with the Tennessee Valley Authority, retiring Dec. 19, 1997.
Mr. Long was a member of Teamsters Union Local # 402, the Tennessee Valley Authority and the National Republican Congressional Committee.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Elizabeth E. Long of Boalsburg; two sons, Robert K. Moyer of State College and Christopher S. Moyer and his wife Heidi L. of Centre Hall; three brothers, Louis Long of Hanover, Jay Long of Centre Hall and Wayne Long of Millheim; and three grandchildren, Melody B. Moyer, Destiny S. Moyer and Cassie N. Snook.
Friends will be received from 7 - 9 p. m. Monday, June 4, at Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Service, 1034 Benner Pike, State College, PA. The funeral will be held at 10:00 a. m. Tuesday, June 5, 2007 at the funeral home with the Rev. George Burn officiating. Burial will be at Centre County Memorial Park, 1032 Benner Pike, State College, PA.
