Ray Reed joined his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, August 30, 2005, at the Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, PA.
He was born on April 15, 1930 in Elbon, PA to Harve Reed and Nellie Wells Reed. On February 18, 1950 he married Helen Louise Fox who survives at home. They were married for 55 years and are survived by their children and their spouses: Linda Swasy and her husband Jack; Ray H. Reed and his wife Donna; Clayton B. Reed and his wife Billie, and Jessie Madera and her husband Hugh. Ray is also survived by his grandchildren and their spouses: Christina and Jeff Lutsko, Ray H. Reed Jr., Jamie Reed, JR and Rebecca Reed, William and Dana Reed, Doug Eckess, Scott and Jodee Eckess, and great grandchildren Derric, Faith, Hope, Grace and Noak Lutsko; Landon Reed, and Timmy, Raylene, and Amanda Reed and Kaleb Eckess. He is also survived by a brother Wayne Reed of Rochester, NY and a sister Ruth Reed of Bellefonte, PA
Ray was in business from 1964 through 1988, having owned and operated Reed Motors of Bellefonte for 22 years. He was a member of the Gideons International and the State College Assembly of God.
Friends will be received from 7 - 9 p. m. Friday, September 2, 2005, at the Assembly of God, 2201 University Drive Extension, State College, PA and from 10:00 a. m. Saturday, Sept. 3, 2005 until the time of the service. The funeral will be at 11:00 a. m. Saturday at the church, with the Rev. Dr. Paul Grabill officiating. Entombment will be private at the Chapel Mausoleum at Centre County Memorial Park, 1032 Benner Pike, State College, PA
