Richard "Dick" Paul Nixon, 54 of State College, died Thursday, December 18, 2014, at Mt Nittany Medical Center at State College.
He was born February 22, 1960 in Wilkes Barre, a son of the late James and Constance Callahan Nixon.
On February 23, 1980 he married Dawn Marie Davenport who survives at home.
He was a graduate of Dallas High School and attended Penn State University.
Most of his working life he was employed in the building construction industry.
Mr. Nixon was a member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church in State College. He was an avid golfer, an avid Red Sox Fan and Penn State Sports fan. Dick enjoyed hunting and fishing, and most importantly enjoyed spending time with his grandson Kaleb.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son Douglas R. Nixon and his wife (Ciara) of Millheim, one grandson Kaleb Nixon, two sisters, Pat Repotski and her husband Mike, of North Carolina, and Ruth Ann Beck and her husband Dennis of Lititz, PA; and one brother The Reverend James Nixon and his wife Joan of Georgia; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received from 2 - 4 p. m. Sunday, December 21, 2014 at Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Service, PC 1034 Benner Pike, State College, PA. A memorial service will follow immediately at 4:00 p. m at the funeral home. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
