Richard H. Hicks, 78, of State College, died Thursday, April 30, 2015, at Hearthside Nursing Home.

Born January 14, 1937 in Bellefonte, he was the son of the late Howard and Edna Hicks.

On February 19, 1993, he married Kathryn Summers, who survives at home.

Richard enjoyed making and fixing things. He spent a lot of time truck driving and working on trucks. He loved listening to music and spending time with family and friends. His cats, Blackjack, Bigger, Ring, and Tabby held a special place in his heart.

Along with his wife Kathryn, he is survived by one son, Ted Hicks of Harrisburg, three daughters; Sharon Hicks of Pleasant Gap, Tina Hicks of Zion, Margaret Bloom of Edna, TX., two stepdaughters, four granddaughters, and two great grandsons.
He was predeceased by one granddaughter, Chandra Nicole McCloskey.

Friends and Family will be received from 1-2 p.m. Thursday, May 7, 2015, at the Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral Home, 1034 Benner Pike, State College, PA 16801. A Memorial Service will immediately follow at 2 p.m. with The Reverend Steven Hicks officiating. Internment will take place after the service at Centre County Memorial Park, 1032 Benner Pike.
