Richard "Dick" C. Yarnell, Sr., 81, of Bellefonte, died Wednesday, March 19, 2008 at Centre Crest.
He was born on September 25, 1926 in Union Furnace to the late Francis and Reba V. Spencer Yarnell.
On November 26, 1949 he married Esther Ann Justice who preceded him in death on May 25, 2002.
He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict.
He worked for Con-Lime in Bellefonte retiring in 1991 as General Mine Foreman.
He was a life long member of the VFW in Bellefonte.
He enjoyed going to the Bellefonte Little League baseball games. Every month he and his fellow retired Con-Lime friends would have breakfast at the Sunset West restaurant in Pleasant Gap.
He is survived by a son, Richard C. Yarnell, Jr. and his wife Melissa of Bellefonte; a brother, Jack Yarnell of Pine Grove Mills; and a grandson, Jason R. Yarnell of Bellefonte.
In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by a sister, Josephine Bartley; and two brothers, Marion and Herbert Yarnell.
Friends will be received from 2:00 to 3:00 PM on Saturday, March 22, 2008 at the Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Services PC, 1034 Benner Pike, State College. A funeral service will follow at 3:00 PM with Rev. Doug Elder officiating.
