Robert Ronald Rightmyer Jr., 90, of State College, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on February 14, 2025. Born on November 23, 1934, in Ithaca, New York, Robert lived a life marked by dedication, hard work, and an insatiable thirst for knowledge.

After serving in the United States Army for two years, Robert pursued his passion for learning, graduating from Rochester Institute of Technology in 1959. His academic journey continued at prestigious institutions such as Cornell University Graduate School of Business, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and Kansas State University, reflecting his relentless pursuit of excellence.

Robert's career took him to nearly every state in the U.S., as well as international assignments in the Middle East, Africa, and South Korea. His work ethic and commitment left a lasting impact on many communities and colleagues around the world.

Robert was an active member of St. Paul's Methodist Church of State College.

Robert is survived by his beloved wife for 40 years, Shirley. Also surviving are sons Robert R. Rightmyer III and spouse of New York, Brian P. Rightmyer of New York, and stepdaughters, Linda Haft (Doug) of Alabama, and Lori Warner (Michael) of Pennsylvania, and numerous grandchildren - all of whom will forever cherish his memory and the legacy he left behind. He will be remembered for his boundless curiosity, love for his family, and unwavering dedication to his pursuits.

Services will be held to honor and celebrate Robert's life 10:00am. Saturday March 1, 2025 at Haky/Georgiana Centre County Funeral Home, 1034 Benner Pike, State College, PA 16801.
