Robert (Bogie) Henry Bogert, 76, of Pennsylvania Furnace, died Friday, December 9, 2011, at Mt. Nittany Medical Center at State College.
He was born May 16, 1935 in Allentown; a son of the late James H. and Mary Ressler Bogert.
On April 12, 1958, he married Wanda L. Barnes who survives at home.
Robert graduated from Allentown High School in 1953. That same year he entered the U. S. Air Force, serving during the Korean Conflict and earning an honorable discharge in 1957, then continued to serve in the U. S. Air Force Reserves until 1961. His primary duties during his time in the service included plumbing and pipe fitting.
Following his time Air Force Service, Bogie operated his own plumbing business for several years. He then went to work with Local 520 Plumbers and Pipe Fitters in Harrisburg until his retirement.
Bogie enjoyed gardening and collecting seeds and reveled in wowing his children and grandchildren with tongue twisting riddles. His favorite songs, which he wanted to have included at his private memorial service were; Short People by Randy Newman and Puttin' on the Ritz by Taco.
Surviving in addition to his wife are one daughter Paula Hockenberry and her sons Seth and Kyle of State College; two sons, Scot Bogert and his girl friend Denise of Pennsylvania Furnace, and Dale Bogert and his wife Suzy and their sons Devin and Trent of Warriors Mark; one sister Carolyn Bitting of Breinigsville; and a brother Francis Bogert and his wife Judith of Spring Mills.
Following his wishes all services will be private at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Graysville Cemetery, Franklin Township, Huntingdon County.
