Obituary

Robert Lee Gilliland, 69, of 1351 Linden Hall Road, Boalsburg, PA, died Friday, January 9, 2004, at Centre Crest Nursing Home in Bellefonte, PA.
He was born December 17, 1934, in College Township, a son of the late James C. and Eloise Lee Gilliland.
On March 4, 1955, he married Betty Ann Musser who survives at home.
He graduated from State College High School in 1953. Mr. Gilliland farmed all of his life in College and Harris Townships. In addition to crop and dairy farming he also raised Percheron horses.
He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Boalsburg, the Fleetfoot Hunting Club, the Percheron Association of America, and the Pennsylvania Percheron Association.
He especially enjoyed hunting, the out-of-doors, spending time with his family, and working with Percheron and other horses.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Christine Coe and her husband David of State College; two sons, Gary Robert and his wife Holly of Boalsburg and Kenneth Lee also of Boalsburg; two sisters, Elizabeth Burrell of Boalsburg and Mary Jane McKivison of State College; one brother, James C. Gilliland Jr. of Williamsburg, PA and eight grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., Monday, January 12, 2004, at Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral Service, 226 S. Pennsylvania Avenue, Centre Hall. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 13, 2004, with the Rev. Brent Book officiating. Burial will be in the Boalsburg Cemetery, Boalsburg, PA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Zion Lutheran Church, Boalsburg, PA 16827.
