R. Lee Henney, 73, of Pine Grove Mills, died Tuesday, November 7, 2006, at Mt. Nittany Medical Center at State College.
He was born November 7, 1933, in Huntingdon, a son of the late Warren L. and Lillian D. Dillon Henney.
On May 22, 1981 he married Joan Henninger Pighetti Henney, who survives at home.
Lee graduated from Huntingdon High School in the class of 1952; he also graduated from Altoona School of Commerce.
After working in accounting and manufacturing settings he served as Fair Fund Administrator for the State of Pennsylvania, and then later, drove charter bus for Fullington Trailways and school bus for State College Area School District.
Lee was a member of Pine Grove Mills Presbyterian Church in Pine Grove Mills. He was past Supreme Chaplain and Grand Counselor of the State of Pennsylvania for United Commercial Travelers; he also held many offices in his local UCT counsel of Standing Stone.
He especially enjoyed fishing, hunting, spending time with his grandchildren, and watching them participate in sports activities.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two stepsons, Joel Pighetti and his wife Karin of State College and Jeff Pighetti and his wife Dianne of Pine Grove Mills; one brother Edgar Henney of Florida; one sister, Sara Port of Huntingdon; and six grandchildren, Christopher Hampton, Cyle, Connor, Amanda, Joanna, and Gino Pighetti.
At his request there will be no public visitation. A memorial service will be held November 25, 2006 at 11:00am, at Pine Grove Mills Presbyterian Church, West Pine Grove Road, Pine Grove Mills, PA.
