Obituary

Ronald R. Chronister, 79, of State College, passed away on Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at Mount Nittany Medical Center in College Township.

Born on October 8, 1933 in Warriors Mark, he is a son of the late Raymond and Irene (Emeigh) Chronister.

On August 7, 1954 in State College, he was married to the former Bess E. Houtz, who survives at home.

Mr. Chronister honorably served our country during the Korean Conflict, obtaining the rank of Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Army.

Ron was employed and retired as an auto mechanic after many years of service.

He was of the Protestant faith and a member of the VFW, Dunlap Meckley Dean Post 5825.

Mr. Chronister enjoyed hunting, camping, and the outdoors, but his love was enjoying time with family and friends.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by children, Ronald L. Chronister (Tammy) of Julian, Timothy S. Chronister of State College, and Kimberly Brown of State College; two brothers, Ralph Chronister of Port Matilda, and Robert Chronister (Mary) of State College; twelve grandchildren, and seventeen great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Russell Chronister.

Family will receive friends from 4-6 PM on Sunday, June 9, 2013 at the Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Services, 1034 Benner Pike, State College.
