Ronald Bruce Hartman, 56, of Pleasant Gap, passed away on Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at his residence.
Born on January 23, 1954 in Bellefonte, he is the son of the late Theodore Hartman and Betsy Ann (Boyer) Hartman of State College
He was a 1972 graduate of State College Area High School where he played soccer and basketball.
In 1972, he enlisted in the United States Army and was stationed in Fort Huston, TX.
He was a member of the Mount Nittany United Methodist Church, and the Fraternal Order of the Elks.
Ron was employed for 32 years with Penn State University, and has currently had the position of Housing Manager.
He enjoyed spending time at the family cabin with his children, Beverly and Ron, fishing, riding his motorcycle, and spending time with his wife Pat every summer in Ocean City, MD.
Ron was a loving father and husband and will greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia (Hritzko) Hartman; a daughter, Beverly Ann Hartman of Centre Hall; a son, Ronald William Hickey Hartman of Centre Hall; three step-children, Tom Riggle of MA, Tracy Embick and Brandy Blackwell, both of South Renovo, two sisters, Cindi Lanager of Pennsylvania Furnace, and Betsy Ann Hartman of State College; and seven step-grandchildren.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, David Alan Hartman.
Family and Friends are invited to his Memorial Service on Sunday, December 19, 2010, beginning at 2:00 PM at the Mount Nittany United Methodist Church, 1500 E. Branch Road, State College, with Pastor Howard Woodruff officiating.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be sent to the charity of one's choice in Ron's name.
