Rose Marie Pilione passed away peacefully at Mount Nittany Medical Center on November 5, 2012.
She was born December 15, 1939 in Jersey City, New Jersey. Her parents were Peter and Mildred (Stanavich) Furek, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her infant son Joseph Peter. She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Lawrence.
Along with her husband, she is survived by her son Christopher Pilione & his wife Karen of Raleigh, North Carolina; daughter Michele Pilione of Fort Collins, Colorado; daughter Mylisa Parette & husband Robert of Bellefonte; her beloved grandchildren Madeleine, Zachary and Ryleigh, and the most wonderful dog in the world, Blossom Louise. She is also survived by her brothers Peter & Joan Furek of Ormond Beach, Florida, George & JoAnn Furek of Hughesville, PA, and sister-in-law Dolores Levan of Edison, New Jersey. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Rose graduated from Berwick High School in 1957 and the Reading Hospital in 1960 with an RN degree. She was a nurse at Centre Community Hospital in Bellefonte and State College, Nason Hospital in Roaring Spring, a rehab nurse, and an industrial nurse. Because of her passion for the elderly, in 1984, she founded and owned for twenty years Renaissance Residential Elderly Care, In Home Care Services, AAA Home Care and In Home Medical Supplies.
She was a loving wife and mother to her children and grandchildren, all of whom will forever celebrate her life. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, experimenting with new food recipes, and attending auctions. She kept her family on high alert with her indomitable spirit.
