Rosella A. Day, 88, formerly of State College, died Friday, June 17, 2011, at Centre Crest in Bellefonte.
She was born April 17, 1923, in Houserville, College Twp., a daughter of the late Russell and Roxie Tressler Stover.
On May 1, 1943, she married Earl W. Day who survives and resides with their daughter Susan in Hollidaysburg.
Rosella was a 1942 graduate of State College High School. Earlier in life she worked at the Riverside Bakery in the Nittany Mall. In 1971 she went to work at Penn State Pattee Library, retiring in January 1, 1985.
Rosella was an active and faithful member of Bethel Church of the Nazarene in State College. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, playing board games, and was an excellent cook and pie baker. Rosella was a devoted homemaker, nurturing mother and grandmother.
Surviving her in addition to her husband are two daughters, Susan E. Robinson (Dallas) of Hollidaysburg and Joanne L. Richner (Randy) of Hublersburg; one son Dennis E. Day (Donna) of State College; fourteen grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and five great great grandchildren three sisters, Nellie E. Witmer of Bellefonte, Helen M. Poorman of State College, and Bella J. Gummo of Pennsylvania Furnace.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one son Ralph E. Day, and two brothers Elwood and Eugene Stover.
Friends will be received from 6-8 PM, Monday, June 20, 2011 and from 10 AM until the time of service at 11 AM, Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Serives, 1034 Benner Pike, State College. The funeral will be at the funeral home with the Reverend Connie Dixon officiating. Burial will be in Centre County Memorial Park, 1032 Benner Pike, State College, PA
