Obituary

Ruth E. Lewis, 84, of State College, died Thursday, January 1, 2004, at Mt. Nittany Medical Center in State College.
She was born February 22, 1919, in Marion, Ohio, a daughter of the late George and Margaret Willis Bruce.
She was married to Wayne F. Lewis who preceded her in death on June 19, 1991.
Mrs. Lewis worked as a clerk in a grocery store and as a secretary at the Army Depot in Marion, Ohio. She also assisted on the family farm, and while living in Florida, operated a farm market.
She had a lifelong association with the United Methodist Church.
She was an accomplished cook and seamstress. Gardening and reading were two of her hobbies. She also had a deep interest in history and current events.
Mrs. Lewis is survived by a son Robert B. Lewis of Boalsburg; four grandchildren, Scott Lewis, Angela Lewis Hoffman, Laurie Lewis Ferry, and Melissa Lewis Malaska; and seven great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Dorothy, Helen, and Sylvia; and three brothers, George, Clifford, and Ken.
Friends will be received from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, January 3, 2004, at Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral Service, 226 S. Pennsylvania Avenue, Centre Hall, PA. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., at the funeral home with the Rev. Pamela H. Ford, officiating. Burial will be in the Boalsburg Cemetery, Boalsburg, PA.
