Born July 13, 1929 in Penns Valley she was a twin daughter of the late Charles Milton and Helen (Hetzel) Ulrich.

On January 11, 1957 she married George L. Bickel who preceded her in death on January 14, 1994.

Katie was a member of St John's Episcopal Church in Bellefonte. She retired from the Centre Community Hospital on December 31, 1993 after 33 years of service.

Surviving is a niece, Joyce Boob of Bellefonte; a nephew, Samuel Alters of Spring Mills and two great nieces, Sheila Stevenson (Dave) of Bellefonte and Angela Jordan (Todd) of Aaronsburg.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one sister, Isabella Alters and three brothers, Oscar, Nevin and Sumner Ulrich.

Visitation will be 10-11 AM, Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Services, 1034 Benner Pike, State College.  The funeral  service will follow at 11:00 AM at the funeral home.  Interment will be in Centre County Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Katie's name may be made to St. John's Episcopal Church, 120 W. Lamb Street, Bellefonte, PA 16823.
