Obituary

Samuel W. Reish Sr., of Pine Grove Mills, PA was surrounded by family when he went to be with his wife Donna, Monday April 11, 2016.
Born November 29, 1941 in Bellefonte, He was the son of the late Eddie C. Reish and Anna K.(McNichol) Reish. On December 27, 1959 he married Donna L. Gill who preceded him in death March 20, 2016. They were married 56 wonderful years.
Sam retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 2006 after 43 years, 9 months of service. He started out at the main State College Post Office, which is currently the Schlow Library, for 20 years. While there he also was President of The American Postal Workers Union for a multiple terms then finished his career at the Calder Way branch where he loved poking fun with his customers. He enjoyed their camp in Black Moshannon State Park and spending time with family. He also enjoyed fishing trips with his friends to Canada and Lake Erie. He had a passion for Whitetail hunting with family and his buddies at Kocher's "Jacks PlacÉ" deer camp. Sam loved dogs especially Brittany Spaniels. He was a member of VFW Post 5825 and the Moose 1565.
Samuel is survived by three loving children; Samuel W. Reish Jr. (Jodi) of Howard, Jamie D. Reish of Pine Grove Mills, Michael C. Reish (Lisa) of Warriors Mark, five grandchildren Andrew Gummo, Kristi Bricker (Andrew), Austin Reish, Matthew Foltz, Ryan Hockenberry, and two great- grandchildren , Eli and Liam Bricker.
Along with his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his guardians; Uncle Albert W. and Aunt Mildred E. Gilliland, two brothers, Ronald R. Reish, David C. Reish, two sisters, Patricia A. Reish, Nancy A. Lyons, and great-grandson Ayden Gummo.
Family will receive friends on April 15, 2016 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral Home, 1034 Benner Pike State College, PA. Services for Samuel and Donna will be held April 16, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Heintzelmans and burial will follow at Pine Hall Cemetery in State College.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Samuel to PAWS 1401 Trout Road State College, PA 16801.
