Obituary

Sarah Jane Mowery, 86, of Centre Hall, went home to be with her Lord, Tuesday, January 20, 2009, at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.
She was born February 5, 1922, in Stormstown; a daughter of the late Jacob and Mary Thomas McClellan.
On March 14, 1940, she married Harold Ernest Mowery Sr. who died Sept. 21, 1996.
Mrs. Mowery was employed as a mail clerk at Pattee Library at the Penn State University, retiring in 1988 after 33 years of service.
She was a member of New Hope Lutheran Church, Spring Mills.
Spending time with her children and grandchildren, crocheting, and gardening, especially working with flowers and attending senior citizen events are among the things she enjoyed most. She was an avid and accomplished cook and baker. Her family and friends always eagerly anticipated the meals and baked goods she would prepare for their visits.
Surviving Mrs. Mowery is a daughter L. Jean Reese and her husband Carl L. of Lewisburg, a son Harold E. (Ernie) Mowery Jr. and his wife Kathy D. of Centre Hall, seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and one great great grandson.
Friends will be received from noon to 1:30, Sunday, January 25, 2009, at Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Service, 226 S. Pennsylvania Ave. Centre Hall, PA. The funeral service will follow immediately at 1:30 p. m. at the funeral home with the Reverend Nathan Pile officiating. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family at Centre County Memorial Park, 1032 Benner Pike, State College, PA
