William "Scott" Smiles, 47, of Centre Hall died accidently on June 6, 2016.

Born August 21, 1968 in Bellefonte, PA he was a son of William R. and Elaine (Sinclair) Smiles who survive in Boalsburg.

Scott was an entomologist at Penn State University.

In addition to his parents he is survived by two sons, Jared and Evan Smiles of Centre Hall; a brother, Mark Smiles of Boalsburg; his fiance, Mary Johnstonbaugh of State College; two nieces, Haylie and Linsey of Centre Hall and his beloved yellow lab, Ruby.

Friends and relatives will be received Thursday, June 9, 2016 from 10:00 AM until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 AM at the Mount Nittany United Methodist Church, 1500 E. Branch Road, State College, PA 16801 with the Reverend Edward Preston officiating. Burial will follow in Centre County Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Scott's name may be made to Pets Come First, 2451 General Potters Highway, Centre Hall, PA 16828.
