Obituary

Shawn P. McClintic, 31, of Rural Spring Mills, died Sunday, December 18, 2005, at Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, PA
Shawn was born July 3, 1974, a son of the late Elaine E. Miller McClintic and Stanley E. McClintic who survives in rural Spring Mills.
He was a 1992 graduate of Penns Valley High School, where he was active in the band,having played in every competition available during high school. Continuing with his love of music, he graduated from Mansfield University with bachelor of arts degree in music. He was currently working on a masters degree in music at Penn State University, where he was also working as a graduate assistant.
During high school, Shawn worked at Gettig Pharmaceuticals in Spring Mills. He played in the trumpet numerous local bands including the Deacons of Dixieland.
Shawn was proficient with many brass instruments, but was devoted to playing the trumpet. He had played in a cruise band for Carnival Cruises, served as an instruction assistant with the Penns Valley, Bald Eagle Valley and Holidaysburg marching bands, and prior to going to work on his master's degree was employed by Robert M. Sides music store in State College.
He was a member of St. Johns United Church of Christ in Tylersville.
In addition to his father, he is survived by a sister, Cindy L. Brown of Millheim and a niece Cassidy.
A memorial service will be be conducted at 2:00 p. m. Saturday, January 14, 2006 at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, 301 N. Pennsylvania Ave. Centre Hall, PA, with the Rev. Nancy Kuhns officiating. Entombment will be at Centre County Memorial Park, 1034 Benner Pike, State College, PA, at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his memory may be made to The American Heart Association, 501 Howard Ave., Building D, Suite 101, Altoona, Pa 16601.
