Shirley L. Ludick, 78, of Bellefonte, passed away on Sunday, February 15, 2009 at her residence.
Born on November 14, 1930 in Bellefonte, she was a daughter of the late David and Helen (Letterman) Brown.
On June 17, 1950, she married Donald A. Ludick, who survives at home.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Pat Armstrong (Richard) of Las Vegas, NV, and Kathy Surovec (Andy) of Mill Hall, PA, brothers David (June) of State College, James (Jane) and George (Sally) of Bellefonte, Dennis (Darlene) and Frank (Karen) of Zion, PA, six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
In addition to her Father and Mother, she was preceded in death by a son, Donald J. in 2001; two sisters, Nancy Bird and Catherine Ryder; one brother, Michael Brown.
Shirley was a 1948 graduate of Bellefonte High School.
She was a homemaker and self-employed bookkeeper, as well as a tremendous mom and fabulous cook.
Although Shirley fought many courageous battles, she never complained. She will be remembered with great admiration, and missed deeply.
Family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Tuesday, February 17. 2009 at the Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral & Cremation Service, 1034 Benner Pike, State College.
A funeral Mass will be held at St. John Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 134 E. Bishop St., Bellefonte beginning at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, February 18, 2009 with the Rev. Neil R. Dadey officiating. Burial will follow at Centre County Memorial Park.
