Sidney Burhl Maurer (81) of State College died February 8, 2009 at his home. He is survived by one daughter, Nancy M. Washton of Pittsburgh, PA. Mr. Maurer was born June 6, 1927 in Lewistown, MT and served in the Army Air Corps in World War II. He spent most of his life in southern California, and was employed by North American Aviation and Aeronica where he built structural components for aircraft. He passionately enjoyed reading, studying history, and playing chess. At his request there will be no public memorial service.
