Obituary

Steven Peter Liddle, 25, of Hatfield, PA,(husband of Shelley Jane Hosterman) died tragically September 5, 2004, in Philadelphia, PA. Steven was born June 5, 1979, in Pontefract, England. He grew up in Sherburn-in-Elmet, North Yorkshire, England. He graduated from Nottingham Trent University with a BSc in Sports and Exercise Science.
He was employed as a Regional Director by United Soccer Academy in Media, PA, where he trained and coached youth soccer players of ages three to nineteen. He had a number of training and coaching certificates both in England and the United States. Steven was a skilled and gifted soccer player, and also participated in rugby, and cricket. He enjoyed every flavor of sport.
Steven loved life. His motto might well have been a quote from Paul Brourget (1852 - 1935) "One must live the way one thinks, or end up thinking the way one lives." He gave and shared in great laughter. He found joy in a proper pub, good food, and a well poured pint; always in the presence of friends fortunate to share his company.
He is survived by his wife and soul-mate Shelley Jane Hosterman. He was the beloved and treasured son of Peter and Kate, dear son of Diana, precious brother to Maranda and Kelly, brother-in-law of Mark, beloved uncle of Chloe and William, loved grandson of Anne and Barry. He was loved as a son by his in-laws, Linda and Chris Hosterman, and was as a brother to Nathan Hosterman. His loss will touch those listed and many more, all lucky to have to known him.
There will be two services. Services and Interment will take place at All Saints Church, Sherburn-in-Elmet, in England. A memorial service will take place at 2:00 p. m., on Sunday, September 19, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 210 W. Main St., Hummelstown, PA with the Rev. Dr. John Betlyon and the Rev.
