Suzanne Shaffer Conklin, of Fletcher, NC formerly of State College died on March 6, 2011.
Born January 7, 1935, in Bellefonte, she was a daughter of the late George and Evelyn Shaffer.
In 1983, she married Calvin E. Conklin, who preceded her in death on March 22, 2007.
Suzanne was a graduate of Penn State University and a retired elementary school teacher for the State College Area School District. She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, State College.
She is survived by two sons; Scott A. Corl of Fletcher, NC, and Kent Corl of Bellefonte, one daughter; Lynda Corl of Bellefonte, three grandchildren; KC and Jessica Corl of Bellefonte and Caitlyn Corl of Fletcher, NC, one brother; Michael Shaffer of Glen Cove, NY, one step-daughter; Tana A. Vance of Chambersburg, two step-grandchildren; Deana Hull and Shannon Klich, and three step-great grandchildren.
Friends will be received on Tuesday, March 15, 2011, from 12:30 PM until the time of the Memorial Service at 1:00 PM at Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Services, 1034 Benner Pike, State College, with the Reverend Karen Urbanski officiating.
Inurnment will follow at Centre County Memorial Park.
