Obituary

Thelma J. Brungart Brown McClellan, 93, of State College, formerly of Boalsburg, died Wednesday, May 3, 2006 at the Fairways at Brookline Village in State College.
She was born June 7, 1912, near Red Mill, in Potter Township, a daughter of the late Samuel Cleve and Lettie Belle McCool Brungart.
Thelma graduated from Centre Hall Potter High School in 1930.
She was married to Paul E. Brown, and later in 1961, married Joseph (J. S.) Stanley McClellan who preceded her in death on Oct. 27, 1997.
Mrs. McClellan worked in housing and food service at Penn State from 1946 to 1963.
She was a member of the former St. John's United Methodist Church in State College and later a member of Bethany United Methodist Church near Colyer, and most recently was a member of Mt. Nittany United Methodist Church in Lemont. She was a twenty five year plus member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Boalsburg Fire Company, and the Boalsburg Garden Club. She was also a member of the Lady Rebekah's in Boalsburg. As a member of the State College Woman's Club she was active in operating the Thrift Club. Mrs. MeClellan was also a former member and past president of the Centre Hall Woman's Club.
She especially enjoyed knitting.
Mrs. McClellan is survived by a daughter Rosaline Marie Brown Goss of Mesa, Arizona; a son L. Edwin Brown of St. Augustine, FL; a step son J. Barry McClellan of State College; a brother Dean A. Brungart of Santa Rosa, CA; 10 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter; two step grandchildren, 4 step great grandchildren
She was preceded in death by two sons, Robert E. and Ronald J. Brown and two sisters, Lorraine Hosterman and Mary Emelyn Johnson.
Friends will be received from 7 - 9 p. m. Friday, May 5, 2006, at Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Service, 1034 Benner Pike, State College, PA. The funeral will be at the Benner Pike funeral home at 2:00 p. m. Saturday, May 6, 2006, with the Rev. John M. Rimert officiating. Burial will be in the Reformed and Lutheran Cemetery in Centre Hall.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, South Central Pennsylvania Chapter, 2790 W. College Ave., Suite 7, State College, PA 16801.
