Thomas L. McMinn, Sr., 78, of Bellefonte, died Thursday, May 19, 2011, at Mount Nittany Medical Center.
Born October 21, 1932, in Clover Run, Pa he was a son of the late Michael and Irene Green Sackatch.
On March 16, 1955, he married Eleanor Ruth Atkinson who preceded him in death on August 19, 2008.
Tom was an Army Corporal during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the VFW Post 1600 in Bellefonte where he was a past commander and chief. He was also a member of the Bellefonte American Legion and Moose.
Thomas retired from the Janitorial Department of Penn State.
He is survived by two sons, Christopher "Cricket" McMinn and John McMinn and his wife Susan of Hanover; one daughter, Susan Ripka and her husband Robert of Bellefonte; two sisters Grace Frantz and Lavina Weilacher; one brother, Lawrence McMinn; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
In addition to his wife and parents Tom was preceded in death by his son Thomas L. McMinn, Jr. on February 13, 2011.
A burial service with military honors will be held 11:30 AM, June 3, 2011 at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.PA
