Thomas "Tom" Andrew Hinds, 68, of Pleasant Gap, died Friday, September 21, 2012.
Tom was born October 1, 1943, a son of the late William Clair and Margaret Shivery Hinds.
Donna Summers who survives at home, became his wife April 8, 1994.
A 1961 graduate of State College High School, he worked at Rutgers Nease Chemical plant retiring in 2005, as a foreman after 38.5 years. For the past five years he was employed in maintenance at the Oaks in Pleasant Gap where he thoroughly enjoyed his friendships with the residents.
His memberships included the American Legion Post 867 in Pleasant Gap, the Benevolent and protective order of the Elks Lodge 1094 in Bellefonte, and Veteran's of Foreign Wars Post 1600 in Bellefonte.
Tom's favorite things were spending time with his family, hunting and "Pappy Tom's Pig Roast".
Surviving in addition to his wife, are four children, Merle Allen Wertz Jr, (April) Bobette Myers (Daryl), Tangy Baird (Tony) and Nicki Wertz; eight grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and two brothers, Ken Billetts (Pat), and Jay Billetts.
Following his request, all services will be private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
