Timothy Sawchuk, 50, of State College, died Sunday, November 25, 2012 at Mountain Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Centre at Clearfield.
Tim was born July 18, 1962, in Norristown, a son of the late Walter Sawchuk and M. Patricia Mitchell Sawchuk who survives at State College.
After graduating from State College Area High School, in 1981; he was employed and trained through Skills Inc., later working at the Bilo Grocery store and at the American Ale House, both at State College.
Timmy as he was affectionately known, enjoyed listening to Elvis and pop music, watching TV, and proudly and happily was involved in Special Olympics, having won multiple awards.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by a sister Lois Lyle and her husband Craig of State College and a brother David Sawchuk and his wife Wanli of Tucker, Georgia; along with two nieces, three nephews, and one great-niece.
Friends will be received from 1:30 - 2:30 p. m. Saturday, December 1, 2012, at Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Service, 1034 Benner Pike, State College. A memorial service will follow immediately at 2:30 p. m. in the funeral home, with his brother David serving as eulogist. Burial will be in Centre County Memorial Park, 1032 Benner Pike.
