Toni Marie Benner, 68, of State College, passed away on Tuesday, May 17, 2016, at her residence.
Born October 3, 1947, in Bellefonte, PA, she was a daughter of the late Jacob and Vivian (Kuhn) Jackson. On July 16, 1966 she married Thomas Benner who survives at home.
Toni graduated from State College High School in 1965. Upon graduation, she worked as a Secretary at Penn State. She became a homemaker when her first daughter was born. Toni started and operated a successful home-based typing business for 17 years. Her business afforded her the opportunity to be at home while raising her two daughters. In 1989 she returned to work at Penn State as an Administrative Assistant and retired after 16 years of service. She was masterful at shorthand and proofreading and was a very fast and proficient typist. Toni enjoyed crocheting, cooking, decorating, shopping, gardening, and being at the beach, but most of all, spending time with her two grandsons, Samuel and Jackson. She took pleasure in, and was very good at, homemaking.
Toni is survived by two daughters, Lori Anne Benner of Livingston, Montana, and Emily Marie Benner Miller (William) of State College; one sister, Teri Anne Jordan Richards (Max) of Port Matilda.
